Sheldon Ingram to retire from Hearst’s WTAE

General assignment reporter Sheldon Ingram is turning in the microphone at Hearst-owned WTAE to pursue an acting career full time.

Ingram joined WTAE (Channel 4, ABC) in 1992 and has covered a wide range of major local and national stories during his career.

His reporting spanned decades of coverage on issues including homelessness, which he first documented in 1993 and revisited in more recent reporting in 2024 as the crisis evolved, Hearst said in a press release.
