Shemon/Berger 7/17/10: Awful show

We're less than 6 days from the start of NFL training camps (rookies report on the 23rd! WOOT!), the return of MLB baseball, and the British Open...and Shemon and Berger waste the entire day at some minor league golf pro-am in Colorado.

God, I know SNR is always on the verge of collapsing (regardless of who the owner is), it's shows like today's that make me wish they would hurry up and go into Chapter 7. The entire network is completely indefensible.

I'm assuming you're speaking of the celebrity tourney in Lake Tahoe. I'm pretty sure Fox and SNR have each been broadcasting from that tournament each year for about the last decade. I heard Tony Bruno live from there on friday night. I think it's just a chance for these guys to get a bunch of big names guests and it's possible the tournament sponsors are paying for the exposure.
There's tons of reasons to criticize SNR but I don't think lack of football talk on July 17th is one of them. Now if this event was 4 or 5 weeks from now it would be different.

Tomficker is right on most of this, as well as you @Fm100meansmusic. I havn't heard all the show on Sporting News Radio. I heard some. I heard "2 Live Stews", and Todd Wright, Larry Brown, and Craig Shemon. For me, they all sound pretty good. I don't know about the rest because i hav not heard the rest of them.

For me, both Sporting News Radio and Fox Sports Radio sound very much simular. Both, with their production are attention grabbers, it makes you want to listen more. Both sound more alive then ESPN.

I'd say, since Hacksaw Hamilton isn't on National Radio at the moment, he was recently on Fox Sports Radio as a Fill in about two years ago. My idea is put him on Sporting News Radio, put him on weeknights (7pm-10pm Eastern Time) Because he's not on Fox Sports Radio at the current moment, and they seem to have some new Fill in Hosts, so why not?
Sporting News Radio should try to change their hosts a little.

I'd like it if Hacksaw could replace the awful Petros and Money show. Or if SNR gave him the afternoon time slot that serves as a rerun for Tim Brando's show. Heck, put him in place of the Two Live Stews. They're awful and the entertainment girl annoys me with her donkey laugh.

I agree with you about Hacksaw being on at all times

I think I said this before, but the summer dead zone exposes a lot of bad sports talk radio. FSR and SNR especially.

to make Sporting News Radio little better, I'd say for starters, I'd say, on weekday mornings from 6am-10am put on "Chris Plank" He's from 1430 The Buzz in Tulsa and used to be on Fox Sports weekend Overnights about two years ago. So put him on weekdays 6am-10am
Keep the programming the same from 10am-4pm.
4pm-7pm put on "Kate Delaney" she is on "America Tonight" and used to also be on "Fox Sports Radio two years ago
7pm-Midnight Hacksaw Hamilton (Football Season) put on Troy Aikman (sorry for the bad spelling)
For begginners they should try this.
Stand by in the next few days for another update on this while I think what they should try on weekends, which may be almost the same.
These are just ideas, nothing to hurt no one

Kate Delaney could be the absolute worst thing in the history of sports talk radio.

I'll re-think this over.
In the meantime, how do you others feel about Kate Delaney? Some listenners actually liked her as well as me. How about the rest of you all?

ok, ok, Here is my newest thought
Here is what Sporting News Radio Should do to make themselves better, these are just ideas, nothing to hurt no one

-WEEK-
10pm-2am Todd Wright
2am-6am David Stein
6am-10am Chris Plank (As I just mentioned)
10am-1pm Tim Brando
1pm-4pm 2 Live Stews
4pm-7pm Peter Brown
7pm-10pm Hacksaw Hamilton
SATURDAYS
2am-6am Larry Brown
6am-7am Best of Sporting News Radio
7am-10am Kate Delaney
10am-1pm Craig Shemon/Bob Berger
1pm-4pm Chris Plank (As I just mentioned)
4pm-7pm Hacksaw Hamilton
7pm-Midnight Peter Brown
SUNDAYS
Midnight-6am Larry Brown
6am-7am Best of Sporting News Radio
7am-10am Kate Delaney
10am-1pm Craig Shemon/Bob Berger
1pm-4pm Chris Plank
4pm-7pm Hacksaw Hamilton
7pm-Midnight Peter Brown

-Major Holidays (Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas...) Major Holidays-
10pm-2am Todd Wright
2am-6am Larry Brown
6am-7am Best of Sporting News Radio
7am-Noon Craig Shemon
Noon-4pm Peter Brown
4pm-7pm Kate Delaney
7pm-Midnight Hacksaw Hamilton

Put everyone on LIVE (almost 24/7 365 Days of the year) except for the "Best of Sporting News Radio". Other than that, put everyone on LIVE 24/7

These are just ideas to make them better, nothing to hurt no one. For me, this and Fox Sports Radio are my two favorate Sports Talk Radio Networks, both are great. ESPN is ok. But I like this and Fox Sports Radio better. This is why I say these ideas to make them better. Hope you all like my ideas?

since Sean Farnham is leaving Fox Sports Radio as posted in another topic here in "Sports" I'd say, put Sean Farnham on Saturday/Sunday Nights with Hacksaw Hamilton 7pm-Midnight

I like Jason Goch instead of Larry Brown.

I think they could do better with that schedule.
