Shine 96.7

Interesting, Radio Insight is reporting that the domain for Shine 96.7 has lapsed. Wonder if this is a sign of future changes for CC?

More likely, somebody forgot to renew it. It happens. It only expired yesterday.

Sure nothing will happen to it, but for a fairly strong station that hasn't gotten more than a 1 share in the market, it would be a wise move for CC to do something different. Certainly think if there was going to be any flip, it would be after the New Year, though.

Hard to believe this station's been around for 4 years nearly. It was probably a 4 year domain. Guess that goes to show how much CC is paying attention to it. I wonder if any listeners have noticed, though...

A format flip would be a welcome change, to celebrate Shine's 4th birthday...

The domain name has been renewed... but only for one year!

Interesting. I still don't understand why underperforming stations like Shine and the Planet still are kept alive by Clear Channel/Entercom. You'd think with the "big corporation" radio companies slashing budgets and laying off people that they'd want to maximize their profits. Guess they're still making money from them somehow.

Interesting that they would just renew the domain for one year. Typically they're renewed/created for at least 3 years. I can't help but wonder if CC themselves don't know if the station will still be around next year at this time. Maybe there's hope. Would love to see even a low budget rock or classic hits/oldies station on there.

After looking further, it appears that Clear Channel renews its domains every year, and this one just slipped through the cracks. wmyi.com, wsslfm.com, wescfm.com all have been renewed for just one year, according to the latest data. So, that doesn't really mean anything could be changing there any time soon.
