"Shine Radio 1220" WSTL Website is now live...

Yeah I agree. I came across the station by accident. My first impression was that it sure sounded professional. It's a nice alternative on the AM side. Good music. Good Air Talent. I Like it. Unfortunately the ratings will be low. Rhode Islanders are driven by habit. Most people in this state go to one station on the AM side. That will continue.

I heard Shine on my trips back home. Well produced, and sounds a lot like my former FM, 89.5 WSJI. I'll agree, a good alternative to some of the dreck out there. And Paul, hate it or not, it's a good template production and element-wise, for you to emulate at WABV.

Well......We now have on our area AM band all the players necessary for our own radio version of a "spaghetti western":

"THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE SILENT": Starring:

The Good: "Shine 1220"
The Bad: 1320 WARL
The Silent: 990

And now, a nice big bucket of over-buttered popcorn......yum. ;D

I'm listening to Trinity's Mid-day show on Shine right now..this station sounds darn good for
this type of format/station.

Thanks for posting the link, Paul.

I worked at a station that sounded something like Shine several years back. When the balance of programs/music is done right, it can work. I was able to pay off the owner's mortgage with this type of format.

Then he decided to take it to satellite-fed dreck..I retired out of there..and the owner couldn't make it work.
That station is G-O-N-E gone.

DR,
You may be right. Even though some of the local stuff on WSJI sounded rough, the national music feed(from SkyLight)was well produced and fun to listen to. I used to love the countdown show we ran: 20-The Countdown Magazine, with Jon Rivers.
