Shock! I Agree With Randall Bloomquist

Is Randall trying a new career as a comedian? Randall did not care what listeners thought when he ran WGST/Atlanta into the ground. In less than one year, WGST saw the departures of Tom "The King" Hughes, Kim "The Kimmer" Peterson, Wayne "No Offense" Kitchins, Pete "Snake" Davis, Sam "Shadetree Mechanic" Memmolo, Kari Dean, Jim "Newsmaker Line" Gossett, Gene Henssler, John Adams, and Denny Schaffer. There's a reason why Clear Channel's Atlanta's offices are known as The Building of Death, and that former program director more than helped keep up that moniker.

Okay, Firebird, let's be fair... How many employees were cut from WBT, WMAL and WRVA under his watch? True, facts are facts in Atlanta, but let's look at the bigger picture here.

WGST is a graveyard for CC PD's...Randall was the latest in a long line of PD's brought into 'save the sinking ship.' There is no saving that ship and with WSB beating WGST back to the FM there may be no way to get the water out of the boat. Working at WGST must be like being on a permanent muster drill..."Man the life boats!"

Back on topic...I too agree with Randall's assertion that giving listeners the scoop is a good thing. If you were open, honest and transparent it would lead to a more dedicated group of P1's. Obviously there will be some issues that you cannot talk about legally...but i think too often we self censor to the detriment of the product.
