They're radio guys who now do podcasts. That's different from someone yapping into a gaming headset.
So that's where Conn school of broadcasting makes its $$$$ those yappers who want to be better at it by signing up for an over priced student loan.
I've always wondered if management types actually look at a CSB diploma as a plus.
And yet its really hard in NYC to get them to come into our studio for $99 hour once a week and do their live show/podcasts with people who can coach them.

I'm neutral here with an asterisk -- the status of an ex-radio employee.
And since I go far enough back, I was never a fan of shock-talk radio. Fwiw, I never cared for Imus, even back to his original WNBC days ..... the few times I caught Stern I was more impressed with his 'straight' sense of humor than his raunchy stuff ..... never cottoned to O & A on WNEW-FM ..... and the few times I caught Clem The Love Sponge I got a kick or two out of it.
So I don't know if all of that subjective dichotomy makes me 'neutral' .
That said:
This is the best reading on a thread I've seen in a while (I'm usually on the other 'Other' board) .
Thanks for the input and the vitriol, Big A and Small Market Guy. Well-joined. And I'll submit that the eleven pages of this thread were more interesting than any morning shock-show would have been -- paid or free radio.

saw something from sirius on my internet feed. The opie and Anthony fan, or any shock jock fan really, is an interesting breed. they do realize constantly spamming the FB page isn't going to help their case all that much, right? might not be very intelligent, but it is fun watching. wonder how long they can keep that up like they claim.
edit - re howard. The funny thing is, I find Howard entertaining when he's on letterman. it's when he's off letterman I can't stand him ;o).
