The E. W. Scripps Company, citing ongoing operating losses and the absence of a suitable buyer for the business, announced today that it is ceasing all operations of its Shop At Home television and online retailing subsidiary. Broadcasts of Shop At Home television programming and operation of the network’s Web site – ShopAtHomeTV.com -- will be discontinued on June 22. Re: Shop at Home shut down - Pax/i impact

Shop at Home had been running overnights on some of the "i" stations (including WPXA Atlanta). I wonder if NBC Universal's ShopNBC will replace it, or if the time will become informercial time.I doubt the Worship network will come back to "i" overnights. (It was dumped so Paxson/Ion could make more money.)

An article in my local paper this morning stated they are currently looking for alternative programming for the 5 Shop-At-Home O&O stations which includes 62 in Boston and 43 in Bridgeport. The article didn't say what would happen to part time affiliates. (such as WCTX/59 "UPN 9" in New Haven, CT which shows the network 130AM-630AM 7 days a week)
Infomercials? (YUK!)

The Worship Network is on all the time as a digital subchannel, on "i".

Not that I am a big fan of shopping channels I hate to see this one go... For C Band or "BUD" users when Shop At Home started you could find all kinds of neat products... They had everything from C Band Receievers, electronics, electronic books, and a host of other items you could not get anywhere else... Back in the late eighties to early 90's Shop At Home was not your normal shopping channel... It was always fun to see what those Smokey Moutain Boys would come up with... The production was always poor, but it was just plain fun for a techno geek to watch... CCThe Worship Network is on all the time as a digital subchannel, on "i".

Because it's entirely up to the stations what they want to do... once S@H is shut down, the part time stations are stuck looking for programming
