Does anyone know what WJLK-HD-2 sounds like...I cannot grab them from my location in Philly and just want to know if they are filling the void left by G-Rock...how is their signal, music, etc......

Thanks for the info, not bad...is it an in-house operation or satellite fed...are they using the tower off of the parkway and do they stream the format, cant find an icon on their website to play it...again thanks...

Talk about plenty of off the wall tunes and a broad variety, they sound really unique...is the format I am listening to on the net the same as the over air....and is this in house or farmed out....it does sound live and local but I dont think the owners would put that much into an HD-2 format...but who knows....anyway great sound....cant wait to hit seaside heights this summer and check it out on my HD...that is is they can make it that far....they must be the first HD-2 rock oriented format in Jersey or as a matter of fact, the first HD-2 any format signal in Jersey...update... I have to modify this, the jock is live and mentioning the area clubs and areas, especially Philly dates and clubs...so I think it is live and local and in house... kudos for a great format finally in Ocean and Monmouth...

Formats like shore alternative should be on translators, not the cloned formats that are currently clogging the dial. Is it possile for HD channels to be on translators?

Well, to be fair, that's the G-Aid stream, which did a pretty good job approximating the way G-Rock sounded (with a couple of additions - someone asked for Gang Of Four, and I can't resist that kind of request) but it just didn't gain much in the way of listenership, probably because you can readily get that kind of mix elsewhere on the Internet. It's sitting there until I think of something better to put there.

It's the main Altrok stream (and its mono sister) that gets the most listeners, and that one's quite a bit more in the deep alternative vein ... but by "deep", I mean as deep as a veteran of FM106.3 in the eighties (that'd be me) would make it. The only other mix that's similar in a lot of ways is 105.3 The Spy out of Oklahoma City. (WOXY is, of course, also very good indeed. So that's three presets that might make your life more liveable.)

By the way, I *do* like Green Day, but not so much that I play them more than once every few days or so.

All of 'em are linked off of AltrokRadio.com, but they're soon going non-commercial and moving off of Live365 - interesting things appear to be happening. I'll keep you posted.

Of course, if you want to hear that sort of thing on an actual FM radio, tune me in Friday nights at 90.5 The Night.

The online stream has actually been up since about week after G Rock flipped I believe. I've been tuning in now and then, and it sounds better each and every day. Yes, it's all in house. If you look under the Programming area, it looks like they've brought on G Rock's Pete Lepore and The Punkyard. That was a pretty popular show on HTG. I also recognize Mike Merrell from G Rock too.

I wonder what Millennium's future plans for this are. It sounds like a daily playlist loops each day with a certain specialty show thrown in the mix as well. It looks like there are no live dj's on, other than the specialty shows as of now.

Hey, it's not like there is anything else going on with this format in the area. And they seem to have a strong local artist concentration as well...looks like they are throwing showcases in Asbury Park each week.

Overall, there seems to be a lot going on throughout this website. Very unusual for just an online/HD channel... curious to see what comes out of this.

Contests, daily specialty shows, somewhat familiar local personalities. It's far stronger than KRockRadio.com...in fact, I think I saw Creed on the KRock's stream...why?

I see 94.3 WJLK runs a show Sunday nights @ 11pm called "Sunday Night Shore Alternative"......I'm gathering they play the same music heard on their HD-2 feed....Anyone know how long its been on Sunday nights?

I heard it the first time one night on my way home over the summer...so at least since then.
