Shoreview FMs on AUX sites… again.

Looks like the FMs located at the KMSP tower in Shoreview are all on their AUX sites right now with possibly the exception of KFXN 100.3. I wonder what’s going on now? Seems the KMSP FMs spend just as much time on their AUX site as they do the main site.

Ha! We did notice the same thing at the same time.

This is a lot of time spent on aux. If it's one problem station or owner, then I would assume there's an avenue for damages?

All the stations sound a little different on the aux site. I like KSJN - The processing sounds much darker than the main transmitter. I assume the aux site has much older equipment.

I have no clue. But I have noticed iHeart’s FMs cause a tiny bit of splatter (when broadcasting from KMSP) onto second adjacent frequencies, so maybe they’re finally getting to the bottom of that and cleaning that up? Probably just wishful thinking. (KSTP-FM 94.5 also needs to clean up their signal. They raise the noise floor from at least 92.9 up to 95.3/95.5 or so when they’re on their main site (Telefarm). I’m 14 miles from them and have my directional antenna aimed away from Shoreview and am using a AirSpy HF+ Discovery and TEF-6686. When they were on their Aux a week or so ago that mess all cleared up. I should probably contact them about that as I do have evidence.)

I would assume they are probably all using older processors that used to be their main processing at one point. But I could be wrong. Haven’t given KSJN a listen yet, but KDWBs processing on Aux sounds like maybe an Omnia.6.
