Short Experiment

Less than one year after moving to Oldies as "The Mighty 1190," KFXR has adopted a classic-based Country format "where every song is a classic and every artist is a true country icon." Ed Wodka, a veteran of crosstown KRLD, will now serve as GM. Meanwhile, First Broadcasting plans to relaunch KMGS (Magic 1160)/Dallas in the next several weeks by flipping the station from Urban Oldies to a talk-based format.

This is great News!

Powerful stuff. Many will agree~

Too bad. Mighty 1190 had one of the best playlists of any oldies station in the country. I am glad that I went up to North Texas to record them. I even got some airchecks earlier this month and I am glad for that.

Would love to hear those airchecks. Can you post them Peppertree?

Re: Short Experiment (off topic)

OK. completely off topic... but, you used the name LashLarue. Are you the former WCW wrestler from Anniston, AL?

Sorry, but just had to ask, since he's pretty much disappeared completely from the wrestling scene.

They are on cassette. I can send them to you in trade. I also have a file posted last year. That I can email to you.

Re: Short Experiment (off topic)

No, however I worked as a wrestling promoter for 5 years. Last name is Lash, so you did hit it on the head for the name for posting here. In radio for 30 years and own several stations.

Peppertree email the Mighty 1190 airchecks to [email protected]

Thanks so much for that link, Steven. Listened to the whole 79 minutes in my office earlier this morning (Monday) .... That station, as Randy Jackson would say, was "THE BOMBBBBBBB!!!!"

Re: File Of Mighty 1190

Your welcome. I think it was a very cool station. I have a friend (whom I trade with) who has twelve hours of The Mighty 1190. I recorded three hours to cassette. All of his airchecks are on cassette.
