A show from the 80's on NBC called "THE MASTER" starring Lee Van Cleef as an 80 year old something ninja, and Vince Van Patten (Dick's kid) as his young "student protege" whatever. Typical episode plot, Lee and Vince travel cross-country in a Chevy Van stop in a small town to help a victim of some crime, they get followed and hunted down by the master's former protege, Vince Van Patten gets his ass kicked in a fight and captured, then Van Cleef has to save him and the original victim, and they all live happily ever after.

Mr. Terrific and Captain Nice both had the unique
distinction of...

Having their first/last telecasts the same nights
(January 9, 1967-August 28, 1967).

Back to back on Monday nights, albeit on different
networks--Mr. Terrific at 8:00/7:00 Central on CBS,
Captain Nice at 8:30/7:30 Central on NBC.

Both replaced failed fall 66 freshmen series--
Run Buddy Run (CBS) and the Roger Miller Show (NBC).

Confirmation of dates/times courtesy Brooks and Marsh.

Captain Nice was running on the HA! channel, before it merged with the Comedy Channel and became Comedy Central.

I asked Alice Ghostly about "Captain Nice" once during an appearence at Disney World...she gave me a look like..."OMG, you remember THAT program?"
