Shortest Regular Daily Broadcast Schedule?

Two come to mind: WWOR/WJZB 14 Worcester, MA, which was on for only an hour or 90 minutes a day for many years in the sixties (Huntley-Brinkley and a local filmed program, and that was it) - and WOPC 38 Altoona, PA, which as late as the early 80s was on the air only for ABC prime-time.

I remember a locally-produced polka show on WOPC in the late 70's that looked like it was shot in the station's basement.

Channel 51 in Ft. Lauderdale signed on as WSMS-TV in late 1968 with a heavy LIVE afternoon schedule out of a small studio with 2 cameras, 1 film chain and a couple of VTRs. We started the broadcast day with a live Romper Room at 3pm, an old filmed sitcom at 3:30, a live talk/variety show at 4pm, another film at 4:30, live Captain Zero (for older kids) at 5pm, another film at 5:30, and news (live) at 6.

We had two areas in the studio for live shows, and the sets were built so all you had to do was flip them around for the next show. For awhile, two live shows were scheduled back-to-back. Everything was flat lit, and we even taped some spots between shows. We were all kids and took turns directing, running camera and master control.

We worked around any equipment problem and made it happen while gaining experience that would have been hard to find anywhere else. I knew it wouldn't last long, though when the sponsors on the station dropped to just Ft. Lauderdale nightclubs (tradeouts). I moved up and out to a major market about 6 months before the station went dark and was bought out to become WKID.

The memories are fun, though. And there was always the beach... ;)
