Should Christian Radio Compete With Secular Radio?

> --> Inclusive, not exclusive.>>>

I agree that most "Christian stations" are exclusive because we use a "Christianese language" that no one outside of the church understands.

--> Not worried about ratings, age-based demographics, groups or anything else that would take the orientation of the station away from the business of saving
souls.-->

I disagree. Many Christian stations are operated with this mentality. Having no ratings translates into having less listeners than other stations. Why even bother?

It's like churches who "advertise" on their street sign corny phrases or so-and-so's mom is in concert this weekend. That is so small-minded and country clubish exclusive - it has no salt - it has no taste. But...that's their outreach program....

A station that doesn't care about rating success (e.g. having the most people tuning in to a life-changing message)is not only "preaching to the choir"...they're also basically "preaching to no one."

Can you imagine what it would be like if only non-Christian stations were aggressively trying to increase their ratings? Why broadcast if you don't want to reach as many people as possible.
