SHOULD GSN CONSIDER SYNDICATING SOME OF THEIR GAME SHOWS ?

I think GSN would get some takers if they syndicated some of their self produced shows....

These shows would be able to make the cut.

Newlywed Game
Baggage
Catch 21
1 vs. 100

If Cash Cab can make it, so would they.
Mo Money, Mo Money, Mo Money $$$
Donald Trump would do it in a second.

Interesting idea. So I immediately looked at the ownership structure. GSN is owned by DirecTV and Sony Pictures. Sony Pictures has a syndication deal with CBS via King World. But the scary part is that GSN is dependent on syndication and content companies granting them rights to old game shows. Becoming a competitor might make those companies less intersted in granting cable rights. Then again, it might make for some interesting deal making. I'm sure the idea has been discussed.

GREAT! Jerry Springer has turned it into the 2011 version of The Dating Game. And he
has done a good job with it. The show (although a bit off) is funny and very entertaining.

Baggage already is going into syndication.

They're already doing a test run on Chicago's WCIU and nine stations owned by Sinclair (distribution handled by NBC Universal). If all goes well, it'll be available this fall for first-run syndication.

GSN shows going to syndication? I guess this will more than make it up to the Cablevision customers who have seen GSN move to the "sports" package.

I'd think that putting 1 Vs. 100 in syndication would make sense since it had been on NBC, but they should increase the top prize to at least $100,000.

I would say 1 versus 100 the version NBC showed be showed again on NBC stations but in reruns.
Don't forget Catch 21,Bingo America and so on.
I would like to see more new Game Shows.

GSN already "forgot" Bingo America, so has the rest of the world.
