Should Houston's KHMX flip to Sports?

Houston, Texas has a lot of High School football games, Texans, Rockets, and Astros.

CBS Radio the parent owner of Hot Adult Contemporary KHMX which format hasn't changed since 1990 just the music has been doing poorly in the ratings.

Would you suggest a flip to a Sports radio station? They just hired a new PD for the station.

I think they are missing out on a big revenue generator, their only competition would be from FM rimshots, and AM radio.

I was suggesting they would flip it to SportsRadio 96.5 and use KSRR for the calls. Air all kinds of sports, from the high school scene, to the Rockets, Astros, and Texan Games.

That also would be Houston's fifth all-sports station. That market doesn't need the four it has, and one could reasonably argue it doesn't need three.

Fifth on FM? or would it be a second all-sports station on FM? I think it would generate some serious revenue.
