Should Love 105 be blown up?

The owners thought when they purchased the group of radio stations that it was going to be easy to change 102.9 to WCCO-FM. Then, they saw how much revenue 102.9 brings in. They don't want to give that up, at least for now.

What owners are you talking about? 102.9 and 830 have been co-owned for decades at this point, so long so that when 102.9 first signed on the air it WAS WCCO FM (but that was back when WCCO AM played music too).

If you are referring to Audacy buying CBS, I would think they already knew what kind of money 102.9 and 104.1 were bringing in, but that number must be in decline by now given the anemic ratings of 102.9 today. The problem is, the same can be said of WCCO at this point, as CBS did a pretty good job of "destroying" that brand over the years due to lack of investment which has only increased under Audacy. (Although to their credit, at least they got the Twins back).

As someone else above said, its too bad they didn't buy 96.3 when it was for sale, but the Pohlads were asking WAY too much money and by the time they came down to earth with their valuation Audacy was basically broke.

102.9 is not billing anywhere near 830. It's the biggest waste of a signal in the metro.
Perhaps not anymore. But KMNB billed a lot more than WCCO for years, and I'd imagine WCCO bills a lot less than it did back when KMNB was "Buzz'N" as that station has also fallen far from it's peak.
