Should Main Line blow up Fly and move Click 101.5 to 92.9?

With the enormous popularity of Click, does anyone think that a move to 92.9 would be a smart one? There would be zero signal problems for one. For another it would eliminate the music overlap with both Click and Fly, which would be another reason. For a third, they could really take a chunk out of Mix on a more powerful stick(Not to say they won't on their current signal).
ALSO...I look for Click to hurt Fly in the next book. We'll see. IMO, Click is a much better station.

With all due respect, let's be realistic here. Us radio folk can think it's a better station all we want. It's the numbers from Arbitron that will decide that. So far we haven't seen any numbers for Click yet. Let's see where we stand in a year.

If Click ultimately unseats Fly, my vote would be for Country on 92.9 but that's a whole nother topic. If Click performs well, why move it and mess with the formula? The signal is strong where it needs to be.

Short answer: NO! Long answer: HELL NO! The station hasn't been on the air long enough to be "enormously popular". Time will tell, but you are WAY jumping the gun here. Fly seems to be doing pretty good in target demos and is running a TV campaign so I don't see Mainline flipping anything at the moment. My educated guess is that Click will do fine in younger demos while Fly will skew a bit older. Meanwhile alans, crank up the volume and crank down the windows while cruisin' to your new favorite station!

What I meant by "Enormously popular" was the fact that Click, with their 6,000 watt, directional signal, has 3400+ follwers on Facebook, compared to only 900+ for Fly. We'll have for the book to see the bigger picture.
I'd imagine Fly will appeal more to the 35 and up crowd, while Click will appeal more to the 18-34 demo. I was surprised that Fly is still playing Nirvana's "Come As You Are" with Click also playing it. Fly shouldn't be playing ANY of the same stuff as Click. There are plenty of genres to choose from to replace the Alternative titles in Fly's library. If I was consulting or programming Click and Fly, I would make it a priority that no overlap happens music-wise.
I am guessing that Main Line's original idea when putting Click on the air was to put a few more dents in the armor of Mix., and use Click as a flanker for Fly. I also see Click taking a chunk of Channel's audience, as well as The X.

I agree with Tanksback, never do a kneejerk reaction until you have proof that the station is doing well. @Alan, I believe a lot of radio station share music in all markets so I really don't see this hurting Fly or Click. Mix, WTUE, The X, Fly and Click all share some of the same music...right? It's kind of where music is at these days and what listerners like. I agree with you Alan that Click is a great station and should do well in Dayton, kind of like the Edge/X did back when it signed on. I hope they put dj's on the station and make it listerner friendly. I think Mix will fall further in the ratings and Click will do really well and Fly will be rewarded too.
