Should MMR be concerned?

They went a half point in the opposite direction than many predicted they would this trend. Is this reason for mild concern on their part, or do they look at it as a fluke trend?

Yes, IF WYSP can convince Kidd Chris to move to mornings WMMR has some real problems. I am truly starting to appreciate that show. Always good for a belly laugh. Preston and Steve are more of a consistent chuckle...especially if they let Steve riff...but I've got to say, yet again, I am soooooo bored of the bizarro files that I will listen to David Weave Roth, or DaveRo, rather than listen to one of the most tired radio segments in Philadelphia...time to switch things up boys.

I would rather listen to Marty on Hanity's show ramble about the way things use to be.

(Now how about that for radio listening diversity - I went from Kidd Chris to an obscure caller on the Hanity Show - Man am I a radio nerd or what?).

YES...YES...YES

IMO P&S are sooooo overrated the show is nothing to brag about,
I find it unfunny and so childsih..."you guys rock" ...he.he
And they gave WMMR a shot in the arm and they seem so full of themselves latelty
Also Jaxon has grown real old real fast!

It is ironic and possibly the fault of the PD Weston. P&S are good. If the station was programmed right there "just good" morning show would have been enough to boost when MMR was a 3 share. But who has a time machine.
My point is that everything Weston has done has been saved by the morning show that keeps the station afloat. and Pierre, but he is bigger then the station.
What market did Bill and Jaxon come from, maybe major market radio is just a bit above there heads.
Greater Media doesn't waste time getting rid of program directors across the board in the real picture MMR will be no exception.

Re: YES...YES...YES

I have heard negative comments from several people who tried listening to the show after Stern left 'YSP. Those listeners were annoyed over how the show's participants talked over each other constantly. That is very unprofessional radio.

My thoughts exactly regarding Preston and Steve. I've been listening this week (O&A on vacation) and the show sounds EXACTLY the same as it did 1, 2 even 3 years ago (straight down to the music beds used to segue into the show).

Try something new, mix it up. Capitalize on the fact that Stern is gone and that there are still many disenfranchised listeners.

Keep giving them more reasons to switch over.

Jaxon came from New England, not sure if it was Boston or Providence area. He worked for Weston in the past, but again, not sure where. So, in other words, I can't answer your question. :0

I know that P&S are gimmick heavy, since they employ their Word of the week / leter of the day and their ( Yawn! ) bizzaro files. but the thing I can't stand is when their callers chime in and repitiously say "You guys Rock!" and then after each and every call that says that, you hear Homer simpson's "Rock and roll"!
it was funny after 2 or 3 initial times, but now it's wayyyyyyy past tired! and so is the Gadzooks call in too. I haven't heard a show rely so much on gimmicky callins since Scott Farell's days on WYSP when ALL of HIS callins would say " Yo Farell, pour me a cold one" and after every call he'd play a sounder of a drink being poured. Preston and steve really wear out thier gimmicks quickly. I miss the Original Philly Guys show.

I thought I was the only one on the board that liked the Philly Guys. Up until about a month ago Vinniethecrumb.com still linked to WMMR and you could listen to Crumbs sports rants and Friday rants. I never posted that because MMR would have ended it immediately. Now it sends you to FREE fm's website.
