Last weekend 3 very talented DJ's in Tampa FL. got fired!!
Yes the all mighty MJ just threw another temper tantrum and got 3 really good jocks blown out of 93-3 WFLZ. He was upset over a bit done on Club 93-3, which aired at 10pm on Fridays. The bit was a parody cross promo for the MJ morning show, that made reference to his daughter being on crack as a joke. It comes across very obvious that this was only a bit for entertainment purposes only, and a retraction break aired after, reinforcing that is was only a bit! This was clearly not a fire-able offense, NO FCC regulations were broken, just MJ's ego.

No jock should ever be fired for any reason, especially for calling Kovacs' mom or wife or girlfriend a hooker--oh, wait, that's different. He would know they were just joking, right? Right?

Interestingly enough, this very station, WFLZ--then known as the Power Pig--was notorious back in the early nineties for on-air attacks against then-reigning Q105's morning jock, insulting the guy's wife and giving out their home address on the air. Pretty cute, huh?

Yeah, until it's your wife or your daughter they're attacking.
 
Again, kid, this is the Northern New England forum. I hope your job in radio isn't traffic reporter, because with your knowledge of geography, nobody would ever get to work!
