Should WCNC be an NBC O&O?

I think this should be considered if NBC sells either WVIT or KNSD such as, Tegna (or Nexstar, if the rumor is confirmed) would get WVIT or KNSD in exchange for NBC getting WCNC. Either way, WCNC's name, "NBC Charlotte" will probably be kept regardless, as NBC also brands stations with their region (i.e, KNTV (NBC Bay Area), WBTS (NBC Boston)).

However, if Tegna merges with Nexstar, that means if NBC sells WVIT, that means Nexstar would have to give them to another group (Scripps, Graham, etc.), because Nexstar already has WTNH and WCTX. I'm saying this, because WCNC is also home to NBC's video & report feed service, the "NBC News Channel", and it might make sense for WCNC, as an O&O to be in the same place as the NBC News Channel.
