Should WWLI extend Nite Lite into the wee hours?

As of this Monday (2/1/10), WMJX in Boston has extended their long-running nighttime show called Bedtime Magic with David Allen Boucher from midnight until 1 AM. That is, it used to end at Midnight, but now it runs until 1 AM. They have had this program since they first signed on back in 1981 with the same on-air talent. Now, I wonder if WWLI should do the same thing with Art Spencer. I know that he has been the host of Nite Lite for a long time, and I think that Boston and Providence may very well be the only AC stations around that still have a local nighttime DJ. I sure hope WWLI keeps with this tradition and extends Nite Lite into the wee hours, and that they don't drop Art Spencer and pick up you-know-who...

It would be nice to see Nite Lite extended. However, from what I understand, some of Nite Lite is voicetracked anyway, whereas David Allen Boucher's show is completely live.

In an interesting side note, David Allen Boucher tracks a similar night show for an AC station in Sacramento. I randomly heard it while in Sacramento last year.

Perhaps someone who has worked at "The Trail" more recently than myself can confirm this, but NiteLite was always live Mon - Fri from 7PM - 12AM. 6-7PM was voice tracked, but, there were no calls taken during that hour and wasn't officially considered NiteLite. Saturday nights would be a mix of calls taken by the producer along with "best of" calls from earlier in the week, but Art usually wasn't there on Saturday nights. Of course during Art's vacation, things ran in a similar fashion to Saturday nights.

As for extending it to 1AM, I always found that call volume dropped rapidly after 10:30 PM, at least on Saturday nights when I was producing. You would probably get enough calls, but the quality would be lower than the rest of the show. I think 12AM is a good cut-off time for a show like that in Providence.

Thats how it was 15 years ago when Lite was in the Ghetto Plex.As for extending it "NO" Delilah or John Tesh will appear 7-mid before that happens. They could ru Delilah or Tesh on the O'nites.

Originally Judy Kay did not air Phone calls. The airing of Phone calls during Night Lite was my suggestion but No one will admit it.

WMAS in Springfield, too.
They run Delilah, or John Tesh? I've heard of stations running Tesh overnights, but WRCH is the only station I know that runs Delilah overnight. I looked at them both on yes.com, and they don't have the same playlist.

WLYF/Miami, which is live and local 18 hours a day, runs Tesh overnights...
I just looked at their website, and I noticed they don't list anyone for evenings. What do they do for that?
