Shoutcast 2.0

The new major upgrade is out (with a "BETA" disclaimer). The shoutcast.com page has been upgraded to match. I haven't tried the server but have looked at the web page. It's obviously geared toward the new server version plus, to my eyes, seems to be aimed at being more friendly to the mobile market. It's cleaner with bigger type; just what a 6 inch screen needs.

Now when will the stream hosting companies start making Shoutcast 2.0 available on their servers?

The new server sucks,,, its not user friendly at all. I use a 3rd party hosting called Cloud Broadcaster,, you can get 25 slots hosted for free,, but if your station grows over that, you have to start paying, but as a very small and new shoutcaster it works perfect for me.. You cant beat getting 25 slots for free.

It does not support AAC plus,, I wish It did,, but I dunno about multiple streams,, you would probably need 2 computers and feed one into the other on a seperate free 25 slot server,, that would work.. It supports up to 192k, but who needs to go more than that anyway, I use only 128k.. When I hosted my own server I used AAC but found it for me to be buggy, and I got far fewer listeners. AAC sounds tinny on Itunes.
