Having just switched from Shoutcast V1 to Icecast V2 I can easily see that it is an improvement and upgrade. I'm not sure if the Live365 platform works as other Icecasts ones do (aside from only offering 128 kpbs) but I do miss a couple Shoutcast features.
1) In Shoutcast (Centova Cast) you could give weight to your playlists and the titles could be played in order (giving you more control over the music). Now, random play is the only option (other than playlist mode and inserting your breaks manually). Least played, recently added and most played are also options. Random play always finds 6 or 7 tracks that it really loves and plays them too often.
2) It may just be me but it seems like the bass is less full in Icecast?
I do like that the new stream has monetization (lacking in the old stream) although it will be minimal and fall way short of covering total royalty fees.
