While doing some work on the computer...lately I have been streaming music to help the work along a bit better.
One of my most popular streams is WVZA.....927KissFM. They play music I just can't get on KissFM Chicago. So, I click up the link to start the stream. That's weird, I hear this hip hop music.....no station liners and some lady that keeps saying I'm in the den with big tigger. I have always heard 927 Kissfm liners. So upon investigation, it appears that Kissfm airs this show In the Den. I keep listening.....hearing song after song after song...I don't recognize any of it.....because it's all hip hop songs! Taking a look on the In the Den site....their affiliates are made up almost completely of Hip Hop/R&B stations....like all the "Jamz" and "Power" and "The Beat" stations.
Does this show do well on this station? I guess I'm a bit shocked to hear an Urban sounding program geared towards Urban stations, on a CHR/POP station. To me, this in the den show doesn't fit the format at all.
If a Sunday night filler is needed, wouldn't open house party fit the stations target audience better?<P ID="signature">______________
