Which may be the reason that WYRK is kickin' ass and takin' names, while several other stations are languishing. Those of us in the market know who they are.

So all a low-rated station needs to do is hire more middle-aged DJs, allow them to yammer about anything they want, and the station will jump to the top of the ratings?
No. No. And no. As I read it, this is not what's said nor implied, but rather an assessment of a component of WYRK's success. C'mon brother, does it always have to turn into "who's got the biggest feet?" Same for throwin' on rap or hip hop. The discussion is contextual, at least as I'm reading it, and thus far, it's been an interesting back and forth. Let's not make it something it's not.

In the end I'd rather listen to a friend on the air vs. just a voice. If I want "more muuusic" I can listen to my iPod.

If I want to listen to a friend, I'll pick up the phone.

Just playin' devil's advocate. Not everyone wants the same thing. When you have 25 radio stations, everyone tries something different. Some have personalities, some don't. Some play music, some talk. It's not one size fits all.
