Shows leaving syndication in 2010

I already heard that Bonnie Hunt was cancelled and Martha Stewart's moving to cable, but I just got a preview of the new fall schedules in my hometown, and I have to wonder about the following shows:

1. Access Hollywood
2. Bernie Mac
3. Cheaters (weekday repeats)
4. Half and Half
5. Malcolm In the Middle
6. South Park
7. Street Court

Surely, not all these shows have been pulled by their distributors! Especially not Access Hollywood, what with the upcoming "live" show....

1. "Access" will be back, along with a spinoff called "Access Hollywood Live", which is pretty much their "Insider" equivalent.
2. If it's still there it'll be heading to late night slots most likely.
3. As long as people in the general Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex continue to have affairs, we'll be watching "Cheaters" for years to come :D.
4. Probably going BET/TeenNick exclusive.
5. With "How You Met Your Mother" premiering this year for 20th Television it's probably onto cable-only.
6. Not sure, but still doing pretty well for late night slots, so it's likely not going anywhere (and WGN America has a long-term deal to air reruns).
7. Long since been toast since at least March.

As for "Cheaters," the repeats are a staple on G4. "Street Court" is probably being replaced by the return of "Judge Karen('s Court)" from the same distributor in many markets.

As for weeklies, it appears that "The Brian McKnight Show" is not coming back. With "Soul Train" and "Showtime at the Apollo" gone, the "urban music/variety" genre is just about gone from syndication.

Cheaters comes across as the type of show that could STILL do well up against Saturday night live on a Saturday night. What's Fox got to lose? ???
( ??? Or is it REALLY better to bring back Mad TV?)

I think also, with SNL being in reruns for now, new cheater episodes might actually do well.

In Chicago, Cheaters 1/2 hour repeats airs from noon - 1pm Monday - Friday and early Sunday morning at midnight - 1am for the 1 hour episodes on WCIU. I don't know if that'll continue next month though. WCIU is already changing their scheduled syndication programming around. 9am & 11am Monday - Friday will be the new timeslot for Jerry Springer, after being carried by Fox Chicago (first on WFLD after WMAQ dropped a then #1 talk show from their station, later on sister station WPWR a few years after WPWR-TV became a Fox O&O station as UPN & now MNT). I don't know if Fox Chicago decided not to continue carrying the show after the contract ended, or WCIU outbidded Fox Chicago for the show.

I don't know what's happening with Street Court. That got moved to the overnight hours several months ago. Before Steve Wilkos moved to WCIU from I believe either WGN-TV, WFLD, or WPWR-TV (don't remember which station originally carried the show), Street Court was on from 10 - 11am with 2 half hour episodes.

South Park is also another overnight program on WCIU. Tuesday - Saturday mornings at 3am & Satuday evenings with 2 episodes from 11pm - midnight, or just 11:30pm - midnight, if WCIU decides to show Frasier from 11 - 11:30pm on Saturday nights. That's also if WCIU doesn't decide to run Svengoolie to midnight on Saturday nights. That depends on what movie they show.

As for the OP listing of programs, only Malcolm In The Middle is carried on WPWR-TV, while everything else is carried by WCIU. I don't know if any of that will change. Bernie Mac iis also on WCIU's sister station WWME-LD (MeTV), which is also carried on WCIU's subchannel 26.2.

WCIU shows a lot of trash talk & court shows during the day & a lot of syndicated reruns in the evening hours from the 1990's to the 2000's, with the exception of Access Hollywood (one of a few HD programs on WCIU)

According to WCIU's website, their sister station, Me-TV, can no longer run Bernie Mac after the fall because the program is leaving syndication.

I'm not sure about any of the other shows listed.

I'm including a link as proof that Bernie Mac is in fact leaving syndication. People need to scroll to the bottom of the page to read that part.

Is Access owned by NBC of part of NBC.I don't know what their ratings are,but I can't see them going off the air.The same with Extra too.If these two are still on when Mary Hart signs off of ET.They might have a chance to catch up on the ratings.I still think Mary keeps ET ratings up on top after almost 3 decades.Access Live thing would be good to see.NBC O&O's would run the show, but when. That means they might have to breakup the Extra/Access Hollywood combo at 7pm.We will see.

Street Court has since long been cancelled by Litton syndication.

The Syndie version of Deal or No Deal is gone as of 9/10
Access Hollywood Live is gonna be like how Dr Phil has his Dr. Phil Now segments with new breaking news being aired at once. It's replacing Martha Stewart because it's moving to Hallmark while Bonnie Hunt's time slot will be replaced by Real Housewives classic eps.

The other show I know that won't be back is According to Jim, I think it's heading for ABC Family this fall. Can someone confirm this?

I think they have that bond on the majority of the NBC O&O's to air Extra and Access although some stations air only Extra and/or Access. KNSD in San Diego airs Access at 6:30 PM leading to Wheel and Jeopardy! from 7-8 PM since those two have been there from the beginning and because KUSI airs Extra while KXAS in DFW airs Extra opposite Access because it airs on KDFW FOX 4 at the same time, 6:30 PM.

Seems like Turner is getting it's hand into the syndication field also, they have two shows out this fall: "The Closer" from TNT and the god awful "Meet The Browns" from TBS. I would rather listen to tone at full volume with headsets on than watch this show. It's a cookie cutter from "House of Payne."

They also film in Houston. They've been in NYC in the past.

Cheaters will be around until they decide to call it quits.

Nothing to back this up, but from what I've seen as far as fall skeds go, Half & Half and Malcolm in the Middle are both done on locals. Is Half & Half on cable anywhere? If it's not, I'm sure it will show up there soon. As far as Malcolm goes, I've seen listings that it will continue weekday mornings on FX

Also, I HAVE seen According to Jim listed on locals for this fall, so apparantly its not going anywhere yet.

Half & Half airs on TV One cable network

According to Jim does well for WGN-TV in the 11pm CT timeslot. So I don't see them dropping the show, until the decide to not renew the contract to air the syndicated episodes, or the show gets pulled from syndication

I just wonder how many of those episodes are actually real. Inside Edition did a story where people had claimed to have been paid to act out a cheating episode. I don't know the exact episode, but it involved where Joey Greco was supposedly stabbed by the enraged cheater, but the ambulance company claimed to have been paid by the production company to rent the ambulance for the episode. The police in the episode weren't real police, and that the police cars were also rented. The police department had no record of Joey being stabbed. The nearest hospital claimed to not had Joey in the ER. Inside Edition even tried to interview Joey Greco while he was jogging, and refused to talk about the episode that supposedly was fake. After watching that segment on Inside Edition, I don't look at Cheaters the same way again. I don't know if any of the episodes are real anymore. I want a show that claims to be reality TV to be reality TV, and not something that might be scripted TV, made to look like reality TV. This is coming from someone who doesn't get into too much TV that a show makes the claim to be reality TV.

After a while of that, turn your TV off and take off your headphones -- and you could still hear the tone. (Sorry, can't resist.) ;D

In Los Angeles, "According to Jim" is being picked up by KDOC, as well as a few Disney/Touchtone Movie packages for Prime Time and Saturdays.

"Cheaters" claim to be "real reality television" (which is a load of bunk), but we all know that for over 60 years there's only one true real reality television program still on the air each and every day and night:

THE NEWS!!!!

You wish the news was reality.
