Shows that need/deserve to be cancelled

What shows need to be taken out of its misery? Here's my take:

- Keeping Up with the Kardashians/Any other shows with annoying socialites
- The Real World
- The Cleveland Show (its just not funny)
- Tosh.0 (wannabe Soup show)
- Wendy Williams Show
- Jerry Springer
- Inside Edition
- The Doctors

Your take?

1. Wendy Williams show - I agree. It's just awful.
2. The 4th hour of the today show. 2 hours was plenty. 3 hours is more than enough. 4 hours is just ridiculous.
3. American Idol - I'll admit that I was NEVER a fan. But now it's just jumped the shark. Even the judges all left.
4. Dancing with the Stars - How does this show get ratings? It's like a throwback to TV in 1955. I don't like it.

I wonder if American Dad! is long for this world. I don't know how good its ratings are, but I lost interest in it quickly. That show, IMO, can't hold a candle to Family Guy.

I forgot about American Dad. I can't remember a time I cracked up or even had a small chuckle to this show.

I know it's already cancelled, but "Sit Down Shut Up" was awful aswell. Never laughed once. Any new Fox animated comedy will never be able to beat out Family Guy or The Simpsons!

Here's my picks...

"Rick's List"'on CNN, Rick Sanchez is just plain annoying.

"The Price is Right". Nothing against Drew Carey, but TPiR is no good without Bob Barker.. IMO he was about 75% of the show's draw.

All of the daytime court shows, the "litigants" on them just seem to be as dumb as a box of rocks.

"AccessEntertainmentExtraInsiderTonightEdition". I mashed up the titles on all of these because they are all basically the same show. Totally designed for people that have an attention span that is 2 seconds long and think that Lindsay Lohan is the most important news story of our time.

TV Land is a whole network I would cancel. It's lost its original purpose thanks to stupid Viacom executives.

"America's Got Talent". After watching this, I have concluded the vast majority of my fellow citizens have no talent.

and...

Anything hosted by Byron Allen.

The Cleveland Show and American Dad

Reality shows about any family with 5 or more children.

Shows with Jim Belushi or William Shatner as the main character.

CBS mondays (Met Your Mother, Rules Of Engagement, 2 1/2, Big Bang, CSI Miami).

Parks & Recreation on NBC + Extreme Makeover on ABC.

All shows on the CW, MY NETWORK TV and UPN.

Here's my take on shows I feel should be cancelled:

The Big Bang Theory & How I Met Your Mother on CBS

Today after the second hour (7-9am CT is enough) on NBC.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jerry Springer (he's past his prime on TV), Maury, Rachel Ray, & all court shows in first run syndication).

Modern Family on ABC.

All programs on CW & My Network TV (Both networks actually need to be dissolved).

All pledge drive programming that never shows any other time on PBS. I'm aware that PBS needs pledge money to fund their stations, but Ed Slott, Suze Orman, & other so called financial advice programs don't always give good advice (especially coming from Suze Orman, who I feel gives really bad financial advice). Even those self help seminars that don't show any other time don't belong on PBS. WYCC overall does it right by offering thank you gifts for stuff that can be used at local businesses instead of useless books & DVD's, since WYCC rarely holds pledge drive programming. Instead, they ask for donations between promos.

The 4th Hour of "Today" - Kathie Lee is bad enough, but Kathie Lee co-hosting with a drag queen?

The Cleveland Show/American Dad - 'cuz Seth McFarlane just ain't all that funny

Any show that begins with "Tyler Perry's..."

Anything with David Spade in it.

I have a feeling that The Big Bang Theory will be cancelled this year anyways since CBS has moved it to Thursday this season up against Grey's Anatomy on ABC and The Office on NBC.

At least Oprah Winfrey will be gone from regular TV starting in 2011 since this season in syndication will be her last and she'll be on her own network which I won't get.

The Today Show (two hours was enough, but not 4 or 5 hours of it)

The View and CBS' version of it. Yes, I haven't seen it because it hasn't started yet but I have a feeling that CBS' version will be the same thing only with younger hosts.

All entertainment/gossip type shows (i.e. anyone who talks about pop-tarts like Lindsey Lohan all through the show)

American Idol: The original judges are all gone now and now it's been a trainwreck and fodder for the late night shows to joke about who the new judges will be.

Jerry Springer

Maury Povich

Dancing With The Stars

So You Think You Can Dance

I like American Dad way better than Family Guy or Cleveland Show. The Jerry Springer Show has been airing 10 years too long and I don't get why it has not been cancelled yet. Speaking of which, I wonder when the Simpsons will finally be canelled.

I agree with you. The hosts on theses pledge drives will state that this is the type of programming you get will you join your local PBS station, yet the ONLY TIME I ever see this type of PROGRAMMING IS DURING THEIR PLEDGE DRIVES. And for the most part, the local PBS station shows the SAME HANDFUL of Pledge Drive programming over and over each and every Pledge Drive: "Roy Orbison In Black and White", "The Best of Doo-Wop", "The Best of the British Invasion", the documentry "Lost in the Alaskan Wilderness", etc. Do us a favor and at least get some new Pledge Drive Programming.

1 - The Big Bang Theory is one of the top rated comedies on television today AND one of the most critically acclaimed. The combination of the two doesn't happen too often these days.

2 - It's not going up against Grey's - it will be airing at 8 p.m. Thursdays, up against ABC's new show "My Generation" and NBC's "Community". While I like "Community" I think that's the show that should be worried right now...not Big Bang.

And I'm surprised people are saying Idol should be canceled. I - like most people on this board, apparently - have grown tired of it. But you can't deny that it's a ratings success. It places in the top 10 for multiple nights nearly every week it's on the air. WHY would they cancel it when most of network TV prime time continues to struggle to find success?

That being said, I say cancel Sunday Night Football. ;)

My Network TV is not really a network, the only original show is Smackdown, which will be on Syfy come November. Movies don't belong on Sports, or Music channels.

Or weather channels either. ;)

What needs to be cancelled: Fox News and MSNBC... period!!
Can't these people just quit the arguing and the fingerpointing (democrats do this... republicans do this...) and stick to what they were originally created for... REPORTING THE NEWS???

The genie is out of the bottle, unfortunately. Fox News and MSNBC pundits exist merely as a distraction from the bigger picture which is constantly obfuscated. As long as a people continue to buy into either of these outlets the more our society is inevitably closer to failure.

Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition ain't going away anytime soon, and the ratings prove it (they're like the top two syndicated magazine shows). It's Access Hollywood and Extra that needs to go, they are to blame for dumbing down ET's quality a bit.

At least Mary Hart stepping down next May after 29 years at ET is planned in advance, not on the fly like Nancy O'Dell, who wanted to get the hell out of AH as fast as she can.

Also, I should add ALL WWE SHOWS (Raw, Smackdown, Superstars, NXT) on the "cancel" list; the PG-rated product has more and more fans defecting to TNA.
