Family guy got canceled in 2002, started airing on Cartoon network in 2003 and that success led it to be brought back in '05.Family Guy was brought back by Fox 8 years after it was cancelled.
Arrested Development was the best show that never became a huge hit and was reborn on Netflix.
Futurama is another of these shows that didn't really have a good run on Fox but went on to have more success when the show went to Comedy Central and Hulu. Then again when Fox had the series the show may sometimes have to deal with episodes being pre-empted by NFL and MLB games on the East Coast. West Coast viewers not so much at the time the showed aired the first time around. There's several I can think of. I remember Family Guy was canceled in 2002 by Fox, but Cartoon Network got the rights to show reruns in 2003 for cheap, where it became a hit. If I remember correctly, I think the original Star Trek was not a hit until after its run.

American Dad is another one it's the Seth McFarlane shows that went on to have a better run on TBS. It's for the same exact reasons why it did better on TBS than on Fox like having to face episodes not being aired in some parts of the country due to Fox sports coverage of NFL and MLB games taking their spots on the east coast.
