Showtime/AMC in a bit of a lull?

With Shameless ending Showtime seems to be in a bit of a lull? No real hit more mainstream shows other than Billions to a lesser extent and none really in the pipeline. Compared to HBO which seems to be producing more talked about shows like Succession. Showtime's programming seems to be very niche. You could also say the same for AMC TWD dropping ratings wise every year with not much more going for it.
