Shredd & Ragan

Those that listen to the longtime morning team at WEDG may have noticed that Ted Shredd has been away from the show for the last few days.

Well...this morning we got the reason why.

To open the show, Tom Ragan read a statement from Shredd...which noted that Ted recently tested positive for COVID-19. He's currently hospitalized and is on oxygen.

That's about right. I know several people who've had it, and they say it takes about 3 weeks to run its course. Even of you get the various mitigation drugs or cocktails. The main symptom is being tired all the time. Sleeping 16 hours a day. So now he will have to wait several months before he's able to get the vaccine. But he should get it, because the antibodies he has will only cover the version of the infection he had.

Shredd has been documenting his condition and status on his Facebook page. It's a valuable public service, especially for the demographic that the Edge reaches.

Ted Shredd on Facebook

Unknowingly, he had Covid-19 prior to his first shot, after which severe symptoms took hold and put him in the hospital. His accounts of what Covid-19 was doing to him were downright unsettling. He's since been released and improving. Wednesday, he made a brief appearance with Ragan and said it's going to take some time to get back to 100 per cent. He also reported getting his second vaccination and has become a strong advocate for getting vaccinated. He may have saved a few lives by revealing his ordeal and deserves commendation for talking about his experience.
