I'll admit that being over a thousand miles (and several decades) away has made me lose touch with much of what's going in the Pittsburgh market. R-I is a great resource to keep me more aware of the old hometown.
While browsing the new WPXI studio site just down from WPGH, I came across what appears to be a new tower on Shreve Street in the Spring Hill neighborhood. That appears to be the home of WPGB, WDSY, WZPT and WPKV.
When was that tower built? And where were those stations before relocating to that site?
I was also surprised to see that 92.9 (KDKA-FM/WPNT/WLTJ) moved off the channel 2 tower and was replaced by WXDX there with WLTJ hopping over to the channel 53 tower on Ivory Avenue. What led to that move?
I also heard that WDTV will be changing from channel 3 to channel 2.
(No, I'm not *that* out of touch).
