I seem to remember Smulyan, Karmazin and other masters of their own universe talking about how internet radio was nothing more than a bunch of jukeboxes and songs on shuffle; How people want more than just that; How satellite is crazy because no one will pay for it. Now, radio is embracing many of the ideas it dismissed in the late 90s. I guess they either said that to make people believe what they wanted them to believe or they just figured it was a fad. Here they are, they're part of their own criticizms and fads now.
You couldn't ask for more proof that that the people running these Corporations have no vision. They don't really know what they're doing. They control clusters of demographics because of the way they were able to get the legislation to fall. They don't serve anything or anyone but their own egos. They talk nonsense everytime they open their mouthes. They make stupid statements about competing concepts and ideas and then find ways to justify their own ways of doing what they criticize. When it falls on it's face they move onto the next victim and make another mess of that.
