Shuttle Launch Coverage

Here is my question. What stations will cover Friday afternoon's launch? Being the 1st to last launch of the shuttle program, I would think every station would do coverage of some sort. How many think there will be stations that don't do jack shit? I can't wait to hear this Friday!

Caught the launch on Z88.3 They are live and local every time I tune over any time day or night and do a great job. This probably explains why they are number one to the shame of everybody else this book.

Arbitron collects ratings data for all stations in every market where they produce estimates. In diary-based markets the non-com numbers are not published in the Arbitron e-book but are available to clients using any of their software solutions (Tapscan, etc.). Non-coms purchase the Arbitron data from the Radio Research Consortium http://www.rrconline.org . Topline data for subscribing stations is available by clicking on the Data and Software link and then selecting Diary Market Topline.

In the Winter 2010 Orlando book Z88.3-WPOZ had a 6.0 12+ Mon-Sun 6a-Mid.

Congrats Deano on being number one! Well deserved. You have an excellent and enjoyable radio station that serves the public. I have watched your numbers for years and know that own your demo book after book - even scoring #1 women 12+ on occasions. I think this is the first time at a total number one 12+, correct?

One has to wonder if its the genre or the intense public service the Z provides? Have any other Christian music stations enjoyed this kind of success in other markets?

Thanks for the kind words. I have the privilege of working with some of the most talented and dedicated air personalities, office staff and IT/engineers in the business. They simply do amazing radio! Z88.3 has been as high as #2 12+ in the past (Spring 2009), but this is the first time that we have held the #1 12+ position.

Several other CCM stations have achieved ratings success in top 50 markets. KLTY-Dallas/Ft. Worth, KSBJ-Houston, KCMS-Seattle, WFSH-Atlanta, WGTS-Washington DC, WMIT and WRCM-Charlotte, KLove signals in Phoenix, Denver, San Antonio, Kansas City, KTIS-Twin Cities and Way-FM West Palm Beach just to name a few. But to my knowledge this is the first time that the #1 12+ position has been achieved with a CCM format in a top 50 market.

While our music is the glue that holds the station together, I believe our success is in large part because of the service elements that we provide. Covering the Space Shuttle launch is an example. Severe weather coverage is another. Serving the community is what radio can do better than any other type of media. Something that we at the Z try to never take for granted.
