Sick Puppies - There's No Going Back

I can see this one going Top 40 as they've made it there before. (Remember "Maybe"?) I love anything from Sick Puppies but this one seems the most Top 40 ish.

Anyone else have the same thoughts?

I think the ship for harder rock bands to crossover to CHR has sailed. It seems most rock acts that hit the charts before 2012 just aren't crossing over all that well, and that includes straight up pop rock acts. Personally, I love this song and hear it a bit on the Alternative station I grew up with (100.7 the Zone/Toledo, sadly I've recently moved to cleveland, where the Alternative isn't so good), so I hope it does cross over.

It sounds like Nickelback, and CHR has clearly expressed that they want no more to do with this genre of rock...

Sounds like it would be a good fit for Hot AC, though - I wouldn't count on Alternative, in its current state

I think some better crossover tracks for CHR would be...

"Don't Blink" by Relient K (when they release it as a single)
"Chocolate" by the 1975
"FKARND" by Pepper (the "Super-Clean" version)

Also, maybe "Harlem" by New Politics?

I would not be surprised if Harlem crosses over. I'd say Pepper has an outside chance.

LOL Relient K is still around!?! I'll have to check this out (though I don't think they'll make any more of a crossover dent than they already have).

Sorry about the tangent here, but Imagine Dragons/Demons seems like a definite CHR crossover at this point, and I can't imagine On Top Of The World not being released to pop after that

This is probably going to be the first time an Alternative band has had a large number of CHR hits from one album, probably since Nickelback, no?

The new Naked And Famous single is epic IMO - I'm hoping that can cross over to CHR, as long as the label promotes it
Just heard it on my way home from work, it's pretty damn good. IMO, it sounds like an 80s pop song and with the "retro" trend CHR has had recently, I think it has a chance.

As I checked out 102.7 KIIS-FM's playlist outta curiosity, "Harlem" by New Politics has indeed crossed over into the Top 40. But will the same effect happen across the nation? (as it has yet to hit KHKS 106.1 Kiss FM's airwaves)

Only 12 stations have added it so far (including KIIS and WIHT in Washington DC), but I think it's all unsolicited (haven't seen it listed as going for pop adds), so IMO the CHR crossover thing looks pretty good...

I think it's funny how KIIS in L. A., which avoided rock like the plague for more than a decade, is now jumping on Alternative crossover tracks early - I think it's partly because KBIG is solidly on top of the market, so CC doesn't have to worry as much about protecting their playlist in the cluster

I really hope they promote it to CHR (i. e. the Naked And Famous "Hearts Like Ours"), cause I think it's starting to run into some trouble on Alternative for sounding too poppish - maybe it'll be the next Fireflies...
