Sid Rosenberg out at 790 The Ticket in Miami

Sedano moves to morning - ESPN Radio's Colin Cowherd will be heard on 790 at some point in the near future...syndication in mid-day...all their eggs are in the LeBatard basket, can they survive with just one good local show?

Well, let's face it it's worked for QAM since Neil arrived.

Sids leaving is not good for the ticket. He is a real talent and had done a good job of competing with Joe Rose. I think Roxy is right...without Sid, the ticket is a one show station.

My point was Neil is the only quality show at WQAM. None of the other shows are ratings monsters. None.

I'll say this as a former sales exec. If your info is accurate that Sedano takes over the morning, they'll be able to make more money there. He's infinitely more sellable than Sid. Sid, rubbed many advertisers & agencies the wrong way. Sedano has as many spots & live spots as Sid and he's on in Mid-day. They'll be able to sell him in the AM.

Though, I heard the Ticket was going to bring in someone from the outside to be their AM host. The other rumor I heard was when Sedano's contract was up this year QAM was going to add him to their lineup. This could change that, but I hear he has a strong relationship with Joe Bell.

Meanwhile, I hope Sid does land on his feet. I agree he's as talented as any host in the country. He may rub some people the wrong way, but I wasn't one of them. I personally, think he needs a sidekick or co-host in his next stop to balance him out.

I can see him heading to NYC and finding work there on a station. I wouldn't be surprised if he reunites with Imus in the interim.

Not a fan of Sid, but I was definitely shocked to hear the news today. Was it really a professional disagreement like advertising or something that silly or did he really screw up in a bad way?

I think this is the beginning of the end for el Ticket. LeBatard's all they got now so it will be interesting to see if Dan changes his approach to be less annoying/alienating to the non-regular listener or 790 becomes all nationally syndicated outside of 3-7p and Sedano in the AM.

QAM is still an old man's station or mostly jock-oriented mentally. It is amazing that Neil is still being paid while he mails it in everyday sitting in his underwear in Toronto and recycling his repertoire on a daily basis.

LF had planned on letting Sid go for months now. The rumor was leaked back in December. He just wasn't getting the numbers or ad revue expected. In the latest trends, he had a 1.7 share in Men 18+. In the same demo Jimmy Cefalo had a 4.9. If Sedano moves to mornings, 790 would be smart to consider Hank Golberg for 12-3. It would interesting to see Hank go against Neil Rogers (from 12-2), and he would be a good lead in to Dan Le Batard.

i guess that ESPN mandate of majority of the shows on the station had to ESPN shows for 790ESPN isnt looking too bad now and ive listened to lebaretard i dont know what so great about him but then again i dont what so great about ESPN RADIO either they repeat the same trash and sound like theyre reading cards like lebaretard and its probably gonna go 790ESPN with panthers and marlins games mike and mike (mornings) cowherd (mid-mornings) then lebatard and the constipated one (nationally syndicated) .......... then when 940 starts sedano goes back for a daytime show

Why dont they move Sedano to AM and bring in someone from another local station. Either 560 or 640.

Like the Beast or Big O from 560 or, well i guess they can't do Milian from 640 since he just got booted from 790... How about Defo or Slater

There has to be something locally to fill an afternoon spot.

Other than Mike & Mike in the morning ESPN's programming is very boring.

I think Mike & Mike is the most vanilla radio I've ever heard. With that said, they get numbers and being on TV has helped them. The only real radio guy on ESPN is Colin Cowherd. The rest is a tv guy trying to play radio host. Besides, Mike & Mike will end up on 940 by the summer.

Here's what I heard on my ride in to work this morning:

Mike and Mike weren't on 1400. They went with dead air instead.

Jeff Deforest wasn't on 640. They were airing Sporting News Today.

Steve White was doing the morning show on 790.

What I've deduced ... Sporting News Radio has shifted from 790 to 640. ESPN is no longer on 1400. Which leads me to believe Mike and Mike will be on 790 very soon. Anyone know if ESPN Radio was on 790 overnight? That may make this conclusion more solid.

Oh, and 790 has been using ESPN's voice talents on their station for a couple of months now.

James Crystal is moving their studios. That's probably why 1400 was off the air, no Defo on 640 and 850 was airing the Wall Street Journal today.

I heard ESPN on WQAM over the weekend. They may be moving, but they haven't yet. As for mornings on 790 look for Sedano to team up with his former Fox co-hort Crystal Fernandez. Just a guess. It certainly won't be what they had on this morning (Steve White) or last week's fiasco (Ed Berliner). At least it won't be if they want any ratings. Sid's leaving is a huge loss for the Ticket.

former post was right... Sid wasn't getting the ratings. Looks like The Ticket decided to cut their losses before PPM kicked in. They've got to be getting desperate though... how many more resets can this station take?

I wouldn't be surpised if Mike and Mike ended up on 940. Jorge Sedano will be moving to mornings on 790.

With all of the sports options in the market (560, 640, 940. 1400) is there a chance that Sid resurfaces here?

Just a thought, have Cox take 93 rock an underperforming rock station that doesn't format well in miami and convert to FM talk. Bubba in the mornings, Syd Rosenberg middays, Hank in the afternoons and you could have a heck of a male 25-54 audience. Just a thought.
