Silence is golden on 1160AM

If they took the fuse, then 1480 would be bad. It's not...1160 is the one folks are hearing dead air on.

Why anyone is listening to 1160 at ALL right now beats me. Isn't it just telling you to switch to 1480? No sense listening to 1160 til the middle of next month.

Still the question looms...Are the WCIN calls being transplanted to 1480?

What fomat?

1160 is running a religious programming as of earlier today. They sill are using the WDJO calls but that may be temporary.

The WCIN calls have been on 1480 all along...and the format is oldies.

I know a guy at WCVX, the owners of 1160. I need to get in touch with him and see what he can tell me. I just haven't taken the time as of yet. Bad Jack...no biscuit.

The WCIN calls are only used at the top of the hour. Otherwise they are playing the sounders with the calls cut off at the end.

Is Darksoldier still employed there?

AM radio here is getting even more BORING...check the facts:

- 6 stations broadcasting mostly religious formats: WNOP 740, WCVX 1050, WDJO 1160, WDBZ 1230, WCVG 1320, WCNW 1560
- 3 stations broadcasting mostly sports formats: WSAI 1360, WMOH 1450, WCKY 1530
- 2 stations broadcasting news/talk formats: WKRC 550, WLW 700
- 1 station broadcasting mostly music format: WCIN (WDJO) 1480

Do we really need another religious and/or sports stations? Thoughts/suggestions? I realize that money will dictate most format decisions.

Not much diversity ???

Truth be told WDJO's programming WDJO's programming was brokered, except one company brokered out 24/7/365. They'll stay brokered, only they'll have to sell the time in half hour blocks. So look for fire and brimstone and colon cleansers. i definately don't see liberal talk unless some deep-pocketed activist group brokers the time, or a return of "Bob 1160, Bob".

Seems like now would be an especially good time to revive progressive talk. :-\

Liberal talk radio was tried in Cincinnati a few years ago with none other than Jerry Springer, the liberals hero. It died because no one listened to it. Don't we get enough of that garbage from the regular media?

That answers my question about 1160s new calls. "Calls cut off at end" (???) Are you referring to those infomercials aired Monday afternoon over TELEPHONE LINES when I tuned in? All of the infomercialers were huckstering their wares,cure-alls and "get rich by being a property owner and make a killing off the under-educated hilljacks" over TELEPHONE LINES! (ewwwww!...el cheapo!)

How low can they go???

BTW: Don't look for Christian Broadcast Systems Ltd. to air a liberal talk format..it won't happen...Rush's rants are bad enough but the former WLWT newscaster went down with the ship when liberal talk aired on 1530 and then moved to 1360. (CC at its shoddiest ever since "Real Oldies" was dumped in 2004/05)...but liberal talk is equally as junky, trashy and superficial as the far right wing facists putting their two cents worth in as well.

Think of it as Rasslemania Radio with Rash Limburgher vs. Al Frankenfurter on "the card."
