Similar TV Programs Scheduled for the Same Time Periods

I noticed Comedy Central had the 2006 version of "The Pink Panther" scheduled for broadcast today, the same day set for Turner Classic Movies to broadcast the original version of "The Pink Panther" released in 1963 originally. According to various TV programming guides, Comedy Central's broadcast of the 2006 version was scheduled to begin about one hour before Turner Classic Movie begins broadcasting the original version. Both movies would appear on television simultaneously as a result of the scheduling.

There was one time that both TBS and TCM were both showing Back to the Future, but not as a simulcast. TBS started probably 30 minutes to an hour earlier because of the ads and was edited, while TCM was showing it uncut and ad free. Both ended at the same time.

A few years back, I recall Houston's KTXH-20 airing the 70's blacksploitation flick "Foxy Brown" opposite KIAH-39's (then KHCW) showing of Quentin Tarantino's 90's take on the genre "Jackie Brown."

Both movies feature Pam Grier in a starring role (additionally, "Jackie Brown" featured her "Foxy Brown" co-star Sid Haig in a cameo appearance).

20 and 39 in Houston had aired dueling Popeye cartoons at the same hour back in the day... ::)

^Did both stations broadcast Popeye cartoons produced under the names Fleischer Studios and Famous Studios?

I don't live there, but I'd think not. Rights issues & all that. Maybe one showed those 1960s King Features "made-for-TV" Popeyes while the other showed the classics. (And IMO, almost all 1960s Popeyes directed by Jack Kinney were just awful.)

I know that before 1997, Warner Bros.' Merrie Melodies & Looney Tunes had separate syndication packages (one was pre-1948, one was post-).
