At one time, several SD stations had simulcast stations either in North San Diego County or in the Temecula Valley.
Now it seems some of those stations have broken away. I notice now KMYT 94.5 is a separately programmed Smooth Jazz station, no longer a repeater for Hot AC KMYI 94.1. When did that happen? It seems they're voice tracked or carry syndicated Smooth Jazz shows such as Dave Koz in the afternoon. They do a good job. I doubt many listeners realize it's not a live local DJ.
I notice that KGB's repeater at 103.3 is now a separately programmed rock station KTMQ (not Classic Rock) and it no longer carries the KGBB call letters.
On the other hand, 92.1 KSOQ Escondido still retransmits Country KSON 97.3. And a couple of stations rebroadcast Inland Empire stations: 92.9 KXFG simulcasts Country 95.1 KFRG San Bernardino and 107.1 KSSD Fallbrook simulcasts the Spanish Hits format of 97.5 KSSE Riverside.
Any idea why 94.5 KMYT and 103.3 KTMQ have gone their separate ways? Are Temecula Valley listeners no longer part of the San Diego metro?
