Sinéad O’Connor dead at 56

Her blog a few years ago was some of the most entertaining stuff I’ve ever read, I’ll be reading her autobiography. She was a very principled person and I always admired her for that.

Should WCBS-FM 101.1 in NYC, K-Earth 101 in LA and Classic Hits across the United States radio stations should play Nothing Compares 2 U song very importantly right now.

In the case of WCBS, they played it once so far today.
That's about right. As far as mainstream CHR goes, she was a one-hit wonder. That song should be the only one of hers that today's classic hits stations should be playing, and once or twice today is plenty of exposure, especially if the song isn't on the everyday playlist -- which in itself could indicate that the song has been tested and is disliked by too many listeners to be considered for regular airplay.

Played a song of hers in the noon hour on KSKO WEdnesday

When she was popular I think it was WXRC Charlotte NC where the DJ called her Skinhead O'Connor, and I think it was before playing her one hit song.
Gee thanks for sharing your memory of some Pinhead disc jockey's stupid remark. It's no wonder so many people think Radio sucks.

O'Connor was a great artist with a social conscience. She obviously had some struggles, but she deserves respect...
