Sources are saying a number of Sinclair employees were pink-slipped today. Their jobs are done at the end of 2013.
I had heard Sterling as well. Maybe a couple more in the KOMO radio department, one or two on the Promotions side, someone in Creative Services (might be Scott Carty) got walking papers, and even John Carlson which leaves NO live and local shows on KVI.
My gut tells me Sinclair may be ready to deal out the radio side.
John Carlson is still listed on the KVI website. I doubt Carty or Carlson were let go.

An update from my sources: About 10% of the staff laid off, mostly in TV. Mr. Carty IS one of those being let go. Some people left right away (Ian Sterling), others are staying on for various durations. Also heard one of the radio anchors may be retiring on Jan. 1.

What might be a good fit for the cluster would be someone like Alpha out of Portland buying most or all of the radio end. They turned around KXL and KINK. KOMO AM and possibly FM could remain news, KPLZ could be the next KINK or KMTT AAA format.
KVI could stay KVI . Just a thought.
