The man most famous for writing and singing the #1 hit I Can See Clearly Now has died at his home in Houston, following a period of failing health. No definitive cause of death given.

Vocally, he always reminded me of Johnny Mathis. While "I Can See Clearly Now" was his biggest hit, he could also be heard singing this theme for the cartoon series "The Mighty Hercules," which aired as part of morning and afternoon cartoon packages in the mid-'60s:

"I Can See Clearly Now" was an excellent song. I think the first one of his hits I remember was "Hold Me Tight". RIP!
