I just read that Arthur Alexander (wrote "Anna", covered by The Beatles) was rehearsing for a comeback tour when he died in 1993, shortly after performing with his new band in Nashville. Does anyone on this board know anyone who worked with Alexander?

Noel Ball I believe produced this cut but Noel died in the early 70s. Randy Wood ran Dot records ..if he's still around he could fill in some blanks.
Dot Records had another cover story back in the 60s with Moody River by Chase Webster going up against Pat Boone...

Buzz Cason is a great resource for lots of 60s music since he sang sound a likes and imitated just about everybody. He still lives in Nashville.

the last i heard of randy wood, he was alive and well living in california..his old homeplace here in gallatin, has been named woods commons, and his house turned into a bank..when he closed his record shop in '91, the city declared a randy wood day on the square, bob perry and i emceed the event and most of gallatin turned out. one of his early hit makers, johnny maddux, retired and now lives in gallatin..and randy was one of the original charter owners of WHIN, if i'm not mistaken when it went on the air around 1949.Buddy Sadler can verify that i believe..being he is so much older than the rest of us and was there when marconi first uttered.."good good morning..ninth caller rips us off...." just kidding OLDBUD :D
