Singer/Songwriter Scott English passes at 81

Scott English, a Brooklyn-born singer/songwriter who charted in 1964 with the song High on a Hill, has passed away in London at age 81.

English wrote tunes for many other acts, including Thin Lizzy, The Animals, Jeff Beck and others. His most often heard compositions are Bend Me Shape Me, recorded by The American Breed in 1967, and Brandy, which had its title slightly reworked and became a big hit for Barry Manilow as Mandy in 1974.
