Sirius: “Afraid of Hard Work?”

When Artie Lange was allowed to return to work, after his second on-air “physical” confrontation on the Howard Stern show, I dropped my Sirius subscription and sold the stock I had in protest. It wasn’t much, but it was what I felt I had to do. We had two Sirius subscriptions at the time, one for each car. Since my wife loves Sirius programming, she kept hers. Honestly, I don’t miss mine. They were getting very careless in all their programming, in my opinion.

While riding with her the other day and listening to the Stern show, I heard Artie fall asleep on-air. He left the studio to take a nap after an apparent carbohydrate overload. From the conversation on the show, apparently it wasn’t the first time he has done this.

WTF? The stock is dropping like a rock, many people already hate satellite radio either out of jealousy, ignorance or both, and this moron is napping during their showcase program? I’m so glad I sold my stock a few weeks ago, when it was still over $2.50 a share. Today, it is hovering around $2.00.

I’ve worked for many publicly traded companies in my life and whenever times were tough, we all went into overdrive to help us get out of the slump. And this rich, fat, overrated hack is sleeping during the one show that has brought him all his current success?

I realize that Lange’s on-air sleeping is a small thing. But imagine the message it sends to all other Sirius employees? And, with so many talented radio people out of work these days, many much funnier than he is, his on-air behavior is unconscionable. It is a very sad state of affairs.

You must be out of your mind if you think Artie Lange's sedentary lifestyle has any impact on stock price, or 'sends a message' to other Sirius employees.

I don't want you as a fellow Sirius listener.

You completely misread my post. I simply said that at a time like this, every employee of the company, both on and off air, has to be giving their best. He is not.

I NEVER said he is responsible for the stock price drop. You need to read posts more carefully before you go off half-cocked.

These 'unconnected thoughts' suggest that Lange's behaviour would keep the stock price low-through poor performance or influence- because at some point in your life you 'understood' the connection between your 'work ethic' and 'company value' as a correlation. You contextually suggest a post-causation.

Sorry, highlighting certain words in my post out of context doesn't make your case.

OK-you're more daft than I thought.

Got to be a troll, nobody that mentally impaired could have the money or ability to sign up for SatRad could they? ::)
