Sirius adds new live Doo Wop Request Show

As announced on WNET Thirteen in New York last night, beginning Wednesday, December 13th, TJ Lubinsky will host an all new "live by request" doo wop show on Sirius Gold, Wednesdays from 9pm to Midnight, immediately following Cousin Brucie.

Lubinsky has recorded and reunited hundreds of doo wop groups, artists and musicians from the 1950s and 60s for his PBS television specials. Each Wednesday night, TJ will take live doo wop requests, playing the biggest original hits, b-sides, album cuts and forgotten 45's of the doo wop era, his show will share rare live vocal harmony performances and never-before broadcast interviews with doo wop groups.

TJ Lubinsky's "Doo Wop Gold on Sirius Gold" begins Wednesday, December 13th at 9pm EST.

Thanks for the post. I always thought that XM '50s did a better job of theme programming than Sirius Gold. This will certainly improve the Sirius Gold lineup.

But wait! I thought there was no one who listened to doo-wop, no one can make money from doo-wop, I'm sure I read that right on these boards

Tell that to PBS, a TV network that is doing remarkably well with such programs.
Another hole being filled that a certain oldies-cat thinks is worthless.

Thats right, life ends at 55...... hmm what was that movie "Logan's Run" about?

TCM- Turner Classic Movies... Re: Sirius adds new live Doo Wop Request Show

And another channel..... hold your breath... runs OLD MOVIES. Yikes. Madison ave. doesn't like that one, since the expert round here will tell us Casablanca, released in '39 (or 42), is likely unfamiliar to most of the media audience.
Old Gringo said radio shouldn't honor the Apollo 11 launch because most of the audience allegedly wasn't around nor cares not about what happened in '69 before they were born.

Hogwash.

After one year of XM, Ive really enjoyed "Sirius Gold" Ive got to say, I will be listening alot more to Sirius! They (xm) play good songs on the sweet 16 countdown, but the playlist just doesnt compare with Sirius Gold!! Im real tired of My Girl all the time, sirius plays Duprees, Skyliners, Chantels, XM wasnt delivering my faves, Its nice to have both , but on Saturday Sirius was coming to us from "the Rock and Roll Hall of fame" and it was great!
