Ch. 141 for PRI instead of 136 I don't know, unless if they mean BBC will be gone too. Either way I'm disappointed but will still keep Sirius of course. Its interesting that they can add the rest of the canadian channels to existing (current US receivers). I remember reading here that you would have to have a new receiver with hiearchical modulation. I'm glad to see thats not the case

I don't really understand Sirius' thinking when it comes to the latest line-up changes. Are Canadians really buying so many Sirius units that its necessary to add all of these French Canadian channels?? Meanwhile, the stations that serve the masses (both USA and Canadian subscribers) get channels that are, more or less, clones of others on the Sirius platform plus the sound quality is quickly getting worse and worse. They need to add a few channels to at least match themselves up to XM and program them better before adding the super-niched crap in the latest line-up.

I'll miss WSM and PRI as well, and I still miss Mexicana and the lack of a 90s hit channel on line-up.

Not only am I not happy about losing PRI, I'm not getting the expanded canadian channels:

185 Canada Weather
186 Hardcore Sports
187 Info Plus
188 RCI Plus
192 Rock Velours
193 Energie 2

Here in Philly I received the new Canadian stations last Thursday afternoon with no warning and it wiped out all my presets. The announced changes on Tuesday morning went smoothly with no preset loss except of course for CH 136 which I had as a preset. CH 185 is interesting with Canadian weather (you don't hear much about it here in the states) and CH 186 has the sports scores/schedules
24/7.

I'm also in the Philly area. My radio had the "updating channels" message that mornign, but I am not getting the new channels (i.e. 186, 192, 193,...)

I have one of the first generation Sirius radios made by Sanyo, and it doesn't go any higher than 184. So if I want the higher channels, I would have to spend some money on a new unit. I've been thinking of it, but not rushing myself to do it. Maybe I'll checkout the channels online (if available) before I invest in a new radio.

Cold and blowing snow, winds out of the west at 40 kilometers, turning colder and snowier tonight. Scattered flurries tomorrow.

Repeat for 6 months.

Eh?

I am up in Allentown, have a Kenwood PNP receiver, and don't get the channels above 184.

I am also disappointed about losing PRI. Both Sirius and PRI have been evasive and have not addressed the issue; normally Customer Care responds, even if it's with a hollow "sorry", but they haven't even done that when I groused about losing PRI.

I have the Xact Visor and my radio updated at 4 AM this morning and strangely the only canadian channel I got was Hardcore Sports Radio. Why this one instead of all of them is beyond me ???

I am not getting anything between Channels 184 and 189 on my Sportstar recveiver.

I called support two days ago, twice. I spoke to two support people, both of whom basically hung up on me after they could not help. One sent me to my car out in the parking lot to wait for a channel update that never came and another sent two updates that did nothing and he also had me reset my radio back to factory defaults which of course cleared all of my presets.

SPORTSTER updated, but no channels above 184. If I manually put in 186, it will stick, bit I get a message that says call Sirius to subscribe... uhhhhh , I already am!!!

 Here's the response I received from Sirius, I'm not too happy with the outcome as it was misleading how they advertised for the new channels.

Thank you for contacting SIRIUS! We understand your frustration in not
being able to receive the specified channels and we are here to help!

Albert, the channels you mentioned, Canada Weather // Channel 185, Info
Plus // Channel 187, RCI Plus // Channel 188, Rock Velours // Channel
192, and Energie 2 // Channel 193, are Canadian channels. Due to this
fact our US subscribers do not receive these channels. We apologize for
any inconvenience this has caused.

I had read on Sirius Backstage that newer radios get all of the canadian channels but you would think the older radios would get them too. ???
