Sirius in Hawaii

I'll be traveling in Hawaii later this year. Is Sirius (or XM for that matter) available on the islands? I need to know whether or not to bring my radio with me.

Thanks

The Clarke belt orbits that XM uses are great for TV at low latitudes, but Sirius's Molniya orbits provide them with a higher look angle, more uniform signal over the lower forty eight states, and reception further away from the United States. Sirius can be recieved much further north into Canada than XM can.<P ID="signature">______________

've read several anecdotal reports on another board which indicate that you can receive Sirius in Hawaii, but for less than the full day, perhaps much less. Personally, I'd take a radio along as a fun experiment.

Both satellite services show Hawaii as being well outside their footprints. However, I did talk to someone not long ago who listened to XM in the Azores, which is an island cluster not far off the coast of Portugal. He said it took some work at positioning the antenna, though. So, I'd bring my satellite radios and an antenna and give it a try. If nothing else, take along your laptop. You can listen to both services online from Hawaii anytime.
