I think your missing the point. They dropped One Dance channel. Fine. But what gets people upset is that Boombox which is now on 34 is not pure dance and plays drum n bass mixed with "OLD School" rap. The Old School Rap is covered by BACKSPIN 43. The format is a train wreck.
I'm surprise your underestimating the audience for Dance music in the U.S. Displaced people who buy Sirius radio because FM Radio isn't playing Dance. In fact the Sirius boards, Dance/Electronic is one of the most popular discussion forums, if that a barrometer for you.
The reason this happen, is because the Big wigs don't know squat about Dance and can't distinguish the Boombox channel over Remix. They are in a bandwith crunch and had to get rid of one of them. Liquid Todd and Steve Blatter (The guy who created it) support Boombox and have more pull on what stays. There you go. I'm postitive Boombox didn't have as many listeners as Remix.
