I'm not a sports fan, but I am a Lynn Samuels fan. I would much rather hear her than a game or race or whatever. So why doesn't Sirius put the sports programming on the Cable TV channel audio channels? Who wants to listen to E! in AM-quality sound, or Court TV, for that matter? Aren't those programs more for the visual content than the audio?

(A side note: I heard a portion of a game, appearently delivered via a telephone line. WTF! I can think of a few ways off of the top of my head to deliver the sound that would at least utilize the quality of the bandwidth.)

I have cable. I don't care to listen to it while I drive, and if I'm in the kitchen, I can put it on instead of Sirius if I want to. But Sirius-exclusive audio should not be mowed over by college basketball or any other sport.

I am a sports fan and sports is a Sirius weakness. AQmong others they should also drop that useless ESPNEWs channel (another visual content channel) and add TSN or FoxSports or both.

Half the time when I tune into Sports Overnight its being covered over by Maxim programming or some game I could care less about.

I couldn't agree more. Lynn Samuels & Alex Bennett are, I believe, the only actual original shows on "Sirius Left" and the audio from 'E' and "Court TV' channels are absurd. They should re-broadcast both shows every night instead of that Stephanie Miller and Thom Hartman crap. The least they could do is not pre-empt the only shows they re-broadcast, Thursday's and Fridays on the weekend, for sports. Even Bennett suggested they pre-empt one of the two right-wing channels since there's only one left wing channel.

They have also carried sports programming on the 2 channels you mentioned.... Usually its on aheavy night with NBA, NHL and NCAA actionn all ongoing...

As much as I agree that FSR would be a great addition on Sirius, it won't happen anytime soon, since FSR is run by Premiere Radio, a subdivision of Clear Channel...On a side note, its rumored over on the "Sports" board here on radio-info that TSn is up for sale...

I dunno.. as I understand CC operates FSR for Fox so they do as Fox wants.
But apparently Sirius doesn't think they need them. Pity.
