Well, I have heard some bitchin' about the consolidation of stations now that Sirius & XM are one.
Changes were made a week or so ago combining/eliminating stations where duplication existed, although a few formats were eliminated altogether. I read the article in USAToday about the complaints and have a few friends who are trying to get out of their contracts and drop the whole thing. I have others who had the first year or 6 months free when buying a new vehicle and most simply let it expire and don't feel it's worth the money. I was able to get a feel for satellite through DirecTV and it was never good enough for me to invest.
I know some of this board's members have liked satellite radio - but what are feelings since the merger as well as recent changes.
 
It's sort of a good news-bad news deal for me. I've been a Sirius subscriber since '04 and loved it. My wife's new car had XM as a free trial and she didn't want it. I liked Sirius more than XM. Now that the channels have been merged and flipped I like some and others not so much.

I don't care for the changes to the '70s stream but love hearing Terry Young, Wolfman Jack and the high energy delivery on the '60s stream. I'd rather heve Sirius Blues 74 over BB King's Bluesville. Other than that it's kind of a push. I have no plans to drop my service.
 
I've got to say for the most part I like the the changes on the XM side, there are more channels and most of the channels I like survived or have been renamed to the Sirius channel name, or renamed to a generic name suitable for both services.

I am most happy that Deep Tracks and The Loft survived, and that there is a second "Public Radio" channel (NPR Now)

Disappointed that Fine Tuning is gone, it was a higher bitrate (HiDef) channel using Neural Surround Sound encoding for the occasional surround sound tunes they played and I never got to hear it on a surround sound system :-( As far as I know there is now no Hi-Def channel like this.
 
All good things come to an end. K94, WRNO, Rock 92.3, 100.7 The Tiger. Now its the end for me of Sattelite radio. With the elimination of the Progressive Country station (America) And the Alt Country station (X Country) and The Hard Rock station gone (Boneyard) thats it. At least till baseball season. I may keep it 6 months a year for baseball. Other than that I am out!

I liked Buzzsaw. I hope it comes back relatively unchanged from it's Sirius version. Great music for eating up Interstate miles on the motorcycle.
